Is shipping furs to NAFA worth it if you only sell 30 to 40 coons? I sold to a country buyer and a friend shipped to NAFA and I averaged 1.25 more than him. Didnt see his fur but I assume it looked as good as mine or better. This was the first year I ever finished coons and I had several holes.

thanks for joining the forum, trapperjohn. it's easy to put a hole in one with that scraper, especially around the nipples on sow coon. "top lot" fur i'm sure will usually fetch more at nafa. i sell green to a local buyer, my dad ships to nafa. most years the better coons will bring a good bit more at nafa. rougher goods may get ya a few bucks at your buyer, but would go in 50 cent pile at nafa. if your fur is prime and well handled, and the market is steady, that is when i would try nafa. i know my local buyer will give me fair prices on my less desirable goods, so i take him all my fur.
