Has anyone had any luck with the new up to date full strut decoys like b mobile or pretty boy? only reason that i ask is that i own a pretty boy and all it does is scare off turkeys. like for instance i and another person took a youth on the youth hunt. first thing in the morning we called up 2 BIG long beards they saw the deke and ran like a bat out of hell!!! I have had that happen on more than one occasion and am begging to think otherwise of them. Let me no about what you all think about them.
JOSH.

i dont know if your pretty boy is supposed to resemble a jake or a longbeard but, i do know this. the sight of a jake can spook a dominant or sub dominant gobbler. usually jakes run together, 3 or 4 in a bunch, sometimes more. the jakes will gang up on an old longbeard and kick his butt sometimes. if your pretty boy is a gobbler decoy, other gobblers may not wanna try him, figuring the only way to steal his hens is to risk a fight. some braver turkeys may come runnin in and flog your pretty boy. i hope that happens for ya. a full strut decoy just doesnt sound like something i would wanna use on the turkeys i hunt, they are pretty spooky anyway. i rarely use any decoy, but when i do i use just a hen, or a jake and two hens, with the jake positioned behind a hen, as if preparing to mount her. this will bring in a dominant bird, but i have had some shy away from it. "read" your birds, if they readily congregate with each other, decoys can impress them. if your gobblers seem like loners, no decoy or just a single hen might be the ticket. every turkey is different.
