there is a class every year at Versailles at the auction barn. Contact Paul Webb of Gravois Mills for info. They put on a good one. CR's are fun to use when everything freezes up. It sure beats trying to keep legholds from freezing up.

I don't think trapper5962 gives any CR classes.Watch the MDC wabsite next summer, they will have a list of them coming up in the fall. Also I'm sure there will be one at the MTA fall rondy in Salem,3rd weekend in Sept.

I'm interested in taking the course also. I am planning to start trying some CR's next season. *NOTE* You can go to the MDC website and download the "Training Manual" for the CR class. It was pretty informative as to how, what and where. It spelled out clearly what was legal, and what is not. It also gave some good illustrations showing all the different parts and terminology. I know that it is going to help me to understand what they are talking about when I take the course.

Brad if ya go to the class with 1/2 oz a common sence you will pass with flying colors. Looks like the permits may be a thing of the past but if ya can take the coarse do so. trap board in the political section the have some new ruleings i'd sure like to see in B&W.

same here ray. i wont just go on what i read on the net, i need to see those rule changes on an mdc document. all the rule books have already been published. will there be a revised edition? is this all just a rumor? could it be law, and i still get a ticket for it cause it's not in the book? the way i look at it that is still up in the air. hope it's for real, though. but im from mo, ya gotta show me.

the word on trapboard now is that the new regs will not take effect until the 2010 season. the books are already printed and they are the law for this coming season.

Hey Y'all. I was trying to listen to Linda Everhart, on Missouri Outdoors radio (KDKD out of Clinton) show last week. I didnt catch all of it what she was saying, but I heard about some of the Trapping changes. Don't quote me, but.... No special C.R. permit required, so maybe no special course required... A longer muskrat season Seems like they were saying something about another species season changing.
Don't know, but I bet you are correct with the changes to take place beginning 2010

this season you will still have to take the course and buy the permit. in 2010 season, im not so sure. i would think, no permit, no course. we will know when the 2010 wildlife code comes out.
