about a couple weeks ago i was at the truman lake on the docks night fishin with my uncle, grandmother, and my uncles friend.
it was maybe 2 in the morning when my pole casted out about 30 feet or so dipped pretty good. i clicked the button to let um run a bit.i then set the hook HARDDDD!!! mine you this is a crappie pole(old yellow eagle claw) so here i am thinking to myself ok heres maybe a 5-10 pounder.but what i didnt no is that this badboy was swimming toward the dock and i wasnt reeling the rest of this 45 pound blue in!!!! so i get him bout 20 feet from the dock at this point not nowin what it is,bout that time it realizes that its gettin into shallower water and starts smokin line off my reel!!! lucally i had my drag set and as it heads to the right it domminos all the poles to my right and even nocks 2 into the water!! also what i didnt no is the there was not much line left on the pole and before you no it all iam holding in my hand is the handle!!!!!!!! the rest of the pole is headin right and was going so fast on top of the water that it is making a ROOSTER TAIL!!!! all of a sudden the fish comes to the top of the water and just barrel rolls and boils the water. there was 3 witnesses including me, we all agree that it was a blut cat weighing in at about 45-50 pounds,at that same time the fish jets down to the depths and quick reflexes of my uncle start rapping line from another pole around the rooster tailing rod. but to our dismay the fish had snaped the line and was gone, but on a good note my uncle was reeling up his pole and just happended to snag his 2 poles that went into the water!!!! thats the story of my biggest fish to date! i dubed him the lake monster LOL!!
