good shot foxpro. im takin a couple cages to work with me today to set for groundhog. i have a recipe for fox bait that calls for groundhog. there is a good population of them living under the old buildings at my work. i should have no trouble gettin one for bait and a nice young one to fry. last summer i caught four in two days with two cages. half of a big red apple is my preferred bait, i have had good luck with cinnamon applesauce also, i have even caught em with just a wad of fresh clover. the little ones are easy to catch but i have watched a big one work a set and they do not want to go in that door. he went all around the cage, even sat on top of it for awhile, lookin down wonderin how to get that apple, but would not walk in. i set very near the den entrance and the small ones just run right in.

good idea, ive got some victor #11 double jaws that i think will hold a big groundhog. i'll hafta check the legality of leghold use. i think it will be legal, cause this is adc work also. the hogs are burrowing under buildings which can cause damage to the foundations.

well, i set 2 cages for groundhogs right near their den, on tuesday, baited with canned peaches. on wednesday i was greeted by 2 coons, a pleasant surprise, since they have been chewing open bags of grain for dinner. they were easily relocated to a rural area. i took some pics of em i'll post soon.
