there are two ways to work with these glands and it's very simple. first you need to know what you want in the formula for a example fresh glands or tainted glands .while fresh glands make a great change up gland lures that works on shy canines it still has a place on the line.
tainted or rotten down glands after you get the glands the way you want them. add 1oz of methyl parben per qt of glands this leaves no taste or odor to your glands.your glands will retain its original odor.this is yoir preservative( can be added to meat as well) then add glycerine oil now this is not a preseravate in the first order it is a blender, stabilizer and a antifreeze all in one. this is what keeps your bait or lure from freezing during freezing weather.
thats it.now let it age for a year and you are ready to goe.
now do these same steps as stated above but for a passion gland lure add a small amount of asafoetida powder in a very small amount to it .becareful this ingredent can over ride your formula.
you can also use lovage oil tincture as this is a passion ingredent as well but never never add the two togather as it's a waste of ingredent.if the two ingredents asafoetida and lovage oil is used seperated in glands then you have two different canine passion lures
